The three policy reports address critical aspects of the geospatial industry's evolving role in a rapidly changing world. Survey to Improve Industry-Academia Collaboration

The widening gap between student skills and the industry needs in the geospatial sector, amidst rapid technology advancements such as AI/ML and modern sensors, is a cause for concern. WGIC Supports GEO 2023 Cape Town Declaration and Post–2025 Strategy

During the recent Ministerial Summit organized by the Group on Earth Observations (GEO), WGIC supported its GEO 2023 Cape Town Declaration and Post–2025 strategy. Aaron Addison, WGIC Executive Director, underscored the significance of collaboration across various sectors, including public, private, academia, civil society, and indigenous communities and organizations. Addison reaffirmed WGIC's dedication to fostering these collaborations by stating, “WGIC, on behalf of our members, is committed to playing its part in building these stronger partnerships and collaborative mechanisms with each of you as we breathe collective life into the GEO 2023 Cape Town Declaration and Post–2025 strategy."
