As geospatial data becomes increasingly generated, processed and transformed through cloud computing and AI, the ability to trust and act on that data is more important than ever. Data to Decisions examines how the industry can build confidence in geospatial data and ensure it is truly decision-grade — fit for a specific decision, traceable, lawful and defensible.

The paper identifies provenance, governance, metadata and accountability as the foundations for rebuilding trust, and sets out practical recommendations across the data lifecycle, from data capture and lineage to AI-driven models and decision-making. It also explores data sovereignty, transparency, uncertainty and the governance of Geospatial Foundation Models.

Through this work, WGIC provides a common industry framework and action agenda to help organisations move from data to trusted, actionable decisions, while strengthening responsible innovation across the geospatial ecosystem.
