Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy

The Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy (GCoM) is the largest global alliance for city climate leadership, uniting a global coalition of over 11,500 cities and local governments. The cities and partners of GCoM share a long-term vision of supporting voluntary action to combat climate change and towards a resilient and low-emission society. GCoM serves cities and local governments by mobilizing and supporting ambitious, measurable, planned climate and energy action in their communities by working with city/regional networks, national governments and other partners to achieve our vision. Led today by UN Special Envoy on Climate Ambition and Solutions Michael R. Bloomberg and European Commission Executive Vice President Frans Timmermans, the coalition comprises cities across 6 continents and 142 countries, representing over 1 billion people or 13% of the global population.

AGFUND

AGFUND is committed to changing this perspective and addressing the human impacts of both major and minor climate events. This program’s primary focus is on flooding and agricultural devastation, with the aim to mitigate such challenges. Beyond these immediate concerns, the WGIC Partnership Ecosystem prioritizes advancing geospatial technologies for land, sea, and environmental monitoring in regions and among development agencies where the need is most acute.

We worked on the GeoAction Africa report together which was published in 2025.

ConnectAID

A Combined Humanitarian Impact Network and Communication service provider dedicated to the Sustainable Development Goals and nonprofits’ action on the ground. CONNECTION: ConnectAID is a network connecting people to concrete humanitarian and development actions, contributing to ending poverty and supporting those affected by conflict and disaster. INFORMATION: International organizations, non governmental organizations (NGOs) and nonprofit associations find in ConnectAID the tools they need to communicate, become more impactful and inform an involved audience about the realities on the ground. IMMERSION: On our social network, members have access to live updates from local projects, news, emergency alerts, a pool of consultants, career or volunteer opportunities, book launches, World Summit of SDG Influencers, youth programmes, a Community Advocate Academy.

Connect AID created a WGIC resource on their website. Nominated WGIC for the AGFUND Prize. Provided training on communications for non-profits.

European Union Agency for the Space Programme

The EU Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA) provides safe and performant space services, enabling synergies, EU innovation, sustainability, and security. To achieve this, EUSPA manages the Galileo and EGNOS programmes, develops markets for Copernicus services and data, coordinates user-related aspects of the GOVSATCOM programme, and carries out work in various areas targeted at Security, Research and Development and increasing space’s contribution to the EU Market. The Agency is also responsible for the security accreditation of all the components of the EU Space Programme. EUSPA, staffed with skilled professionals bringing relevant experience from the public and private sectors, is unique in contributing to one of the most important and ambitious projects ever undertaken by the EU. We are committed to implementing the EU Space Programme and turning the EU space ambitions into a reality.

Group on Earth Observations (GEO)

Group on Earth Observations (GEO) is an intergovernmental partnership of 115 countries promoting shared and open data and information on Earth observations. The GEO community also includes almost 150 partners including research institutions, data providers, businesses, engineers, scientists to promote broad open data sharing to improve the state of our planet.

Collaborated during 2020 on the Climate change virtual event. Collaborated during 2021 on the GHG Report majorly funded by GEO, jointly published by Climate TRACE, GEO and WGIC.

International Telecommunication Union

UN agency driving innovation in ICTs. Collaborates with 193 Member States and 900+ companies, universities, and organizations globally. ICTs support all aspects of life, and ITU ensures modern communication technologies are efficient, safe, easy, and affordable for people worldwide.

Collaborated for WGIC report on GeoAI, where the report was virtually launched at an ITU platform. WGIC, UN-GGIM Academic Network and OGC collaborated with ITU to do a GeoAI Discovery series of virtual events in 2021.

ISO/TC 211

Standardization in the field of digital geographic information. This work aims to establish a structured set of standards for information concerning objects or phenomena that are directly or indirectly associated with a location relative to the Earth. The work shall link to appropriate standards for information technology and data where possible, and provide a framework for the development of sector-specific applications using geographic data.

The contributed to the studies on AI/ML and Spatial Digital Twins as subject matter experts. They participated in the launch of the Spatial Digital Twins report, and participated in the Partner Panel.

United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD)

Compiles and disseminates global statistical information. Develops standards and norms for statistical and geospatial activities. Supports countries in strengthening their national statistical and geospatial systems. Facilitates coordination across international statistical and geospatial activities. Supports key UN entities, including the UN Statistical Commission, Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management, and Group of Experts on Geographic Names.

Locus Charter

Location data offers both risks and opportunities. The Charter seeks to establish shared principles to improve practices, protect individuals, and serve the public interest. “Locus” means “place” in Latin. While data ethics exist in sectors like healthcare, online platforms, and professions like data science, there are currently no common principles guiding the responsible use of location data. The Locus Charter, developed through international workshops, aims to support geospatial professionals in making applications that benefit society and promote ethical practices.

Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC)
