The Hague, The Netherlands, November 16: The World Geospatial Industry Council (WGIC) is pleased to announce its new membership structure and an additional membership category, effective 2024.
The WGIC Officers and Board of Directors reviewed its existing membership structure at its recent quarterly board meeting and decided to introduce a more nuanced membership structure. The Board introduced a new membership category to become more inclusive and representative of the global geospatial industry. This action reflects the first update in several years and aims to reduce the complexity of dues in each category while remaining equitable to all levels of membership. The new structure comes into effect from January 2024.

WGIC Invites ‘Alliance Members’
Effective 2024, a new membership category – Alliance Member – will be active. This category is designed for companies that use substantial geospatial and/or Earth observation technologies in their business but are not core geospatial companies. Alliance members are eligible to serve on various WGIC committees and attend general member meetings but are restricted from holding board positions. The annual fee for this category is set at $20,000 regardless of the company revenue.
