Spatial Vision Joins UN Global Compact Initiative

WGIC member Spatial Vision is now a member of the United Nations Global Compact initiative. It’s a voluntary leadership platform for the development, implementation, and disclosure of responsible business practices.

Launched in 2000, the UN Global Compact is the largest corporate sustainability initiative globally, with more than 10,000 companies and 4,000 non-business signatories based in over 160 countries. The UN Global Compact is a call to companies everywhere to align their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption, and to take action in support of UN goals and issues embodied in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Communication on Progress
A key requirement for participation in the UN Global Compact is the annual submission of a Communication on Progress (COP) that describes a company’s efforts to implement the Ten Principles. Spatial Vision has delivered its first COP, which is accessible here. Spatial Vision commits to reporting progress annually following the UN Global Compact COP policy as part of the membership. Spatial Vision’s Managing Director Glenn Cockerton said of the membership: “Spatial Vision is committed to making the UN Global Compact and its principles part of the strategy, culture and day-to-day operations of our company, and to engaging in collaborative projects which advance the broader development goals of the United Nations, particularly the Sustainable Development Goals.”
