COP27 – The Role of Private Sector and Social Enterprises in Climate Change

The Arab Gulf Program for Development (AGFUND) and the World Geospatial Industry Council (WGIC) are joining forces at the 2022 United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Conference of the Parties (COP27) to discuss the Role of the Private Sector and Social Enterprises in Advancing Climate Action. This session will be held in the pavilion hosted by AGFUND and the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA).

This Side Event will focus on UN Sustainable Development Goal 13 (SDG 13) – Climate Action and the role of the commercial geospatial sector. The impetus of this session is the 2022 Prince Talal Prize for Human Development (The Prize), awarded to WGIC by AGFUND.

The Prize will assist WGIC in bringing together the commercial geospatial sector, contributing to the discussions at COP 27 on the value of geospatial technologies for climate action in regions such as Africa.
